To set a vehicle handover, a garage owner posts a few slots in the folder to hand the car back. The client picks one, and the day reaches their calendar with the garage’s address.
Why does the handover take several phone calls?
The car is ready, the client is at work and the garage has its opening hours. You leave a message, they call back while you are under another car, you suggest another time. Meanwhile the car takes up a bay the workshop needs.
How do you offer the slots?
You start from the composer and add an appointment to the message. Slots are typed the way you would say them, "Thursday 5:30pm", each with a duration: half an hour is enough to hand over the keys. For the place you choose "In person": the garage’s address comes from the suggestions and is shown on a map.
In the details, you write what the appointment covers: handing back the vehicle and going through the invoice.
What does the client do?
They see the slots and pick one. If none fits, they say so, with a line on why, and you publish a new proposal.
Once confirmed, the day does not shift: if it has to change, you cancel, the cancellation removes the event from their calendar, and you offer new dates.
What should the client plan before coming?
The catalogue holds no slots: they depend on your workshop, which Kolinea does not read. The template gives the client the "Before collecting the vehicle" list instead, to be done within three days: bring the spare key if they had left it, plan to settle the invoice at reception, take back the old parts if they asked for them. Payment happens at your garage: Kolinea does not take it.
And once the car is back?
You mark the "Vehicle ready" milestone as reached, then close the folder. If the car comes back under warranty, you reopen it.
For real, outside the garage in rue de la Madeleine
In the example folder (in French only), Ronan Prigent offers Nadège Pottier two thirty-minute slots, one at 5:30pm, the other at 8:30am the next day, at Garage Prigent, 27 rue de la Madeleine, Angers. The detail reads: "Handing back the vehicle and going through the invoice." He adds that he will show her the parts that were changed when he hands her the keys.
She has not answered yet, and the waiting view shows it.
