The information specific to each folder, and the history of its changes
Custom fields
The folder’s details, with their history
Budget, floor area, start date: each folder keeps its details in one place. When a value changes, the old one stays, with who changed it and when.
- Text, number, amount, date, yes or no, choice
- Field groups for the whole workspace (Premium)
- Visible to the client, or team only

The budget changed? You know when, and who changed it
A folder has parameters, and they change
A property search has a surface, a budget, a type of property. A building site has an address and a start date. This information comes back from one folder to the next, and it moves: a buyer’s budget changes, and the team wants to know when, and by whom.
In a thread, it gets lost between two messages; in a separate spreadsheet, it no longer follows the folder. Custom fields keep it in the folder’s “Information” section, with the history of every change.
How it works
Each field has a label and a type, chosen once and for all. There are eight:
-
Short text
(up to 255 characters) and long text (5,000);
-
Number
With the unit of your choice (m², rooms…);
-
Amount
Always in euros;
-
Date
-
Yes or no
-
Single choice
And multiple choice, with a list of up to 20 options.
Groups for the whole workspace. A group of fields gathers those that some folders always need, in the order they are shown, 30 at most. Workspace owners and administrators write it once, on the Templates page, “Custom fields” tab. Any member can then give it to a folder, or to a folder template: folders created from that template receive its groups.
A live link. The folder points to its group and does not keep a copy. A field added, renamed or removed in the group is added, renamed or removed at once in every folder that uses it. Removing a field that folders have filled in asks for confirmation, saying how many folders are affected: values and history go with it.
Fields of the folder’s own. The folder’s responsible person, or a supervisor, can also add fields to that folder alone, next to its groups: 30 at most. Removing a group from a folder keeps its values, hidden: adding the group back brings them back.
Fill in on the spot. The whole folder team enters values in “Information” while the folder is open: click the value, press Enter to save, Escape to give up.
The history, field by field. Every change leaves a line: the old value, the new one, the author, the date. Nothing is rewritten, and a save that changes nothing leaves none. The team reads this history from the folder, even once it is closed.
What participants see. Each field has its own setting: team only (the default) or visible to participants. A participant reads only the fields shown to them, and only those that are filled in. The history stays on the team’s side.
In your trade
Real estate. A buyer is searching: surface as a number with its unit, budget as an amount, type of property as a single choice. When the budget changes, the history keeps the former amount, the author and the date.
Building and renovation. Each site has its address as short text and its start date as a date. The contractors read those two fields if they are shown to them; a team-only field stays invisible to them.
Premium to write, Free to keep
Creating or editing a group, or a field of a folder’s own, requires the Premium plan. On the Free plan, the tab and the “Folder fields” sheet say so with a banner, with no create button.
After a switch to the Free plan, nothing is deleted. Groups already written stay readable, can be filled in, given to a folder and deleted, but their definition no longer changes. A folder’s own fields stay fillable, and their list no longer changes.
On a folder a client opened for their professional, until it is taken over, the plan of the client’s workspace decides; afterwards, the professional’s.
Custom fields are also a folder option: you can turn it off for the whole workspace, in its settings, or for a single folder, in its “Edit” sheet. When turned off, nothing is shown, but the values are kept.
What it does not do
- No required field: a field stays empty until someone fills it in.
- The type of a saved field no longer changes.
- Amounts are in euros, not in another currency.
- You cannot filter or sort the folder list by field value.
- Values cannot be inserted into publication templates.
