# Kolinea changelog: the week of 5 October 2026

> 7 to 9 October: a folder handed to any team member, templates with appointments, milestones and places, and sign-in with a single e-mail.

The Kolinea changelog for 7 to 9 October 2026, its first three days live, brings two changes a team will notice: any member of the workspace can now be put in charge of a folder, and a folder template can hold its own appointments, milestones and places. The rest makes the app easier to read, from signing in to the lists, and fixes two display bugs.

## Handing a folder to another team member

Until now, a new person in charge could only be picked among the people already on the folder, and the previous one stayed on it. The other members of the workspace are now offered too, from the folder’s list of people or from its panel. A “Remove … from the folder” box lets the previous person in charge leave in the same move: they lose access, and the thread keeps naming them.

Each person’s role, link, limited access and removal are now managed from their card, which opens from the list or with a click on their name in the thread. How access works is explained on the page about [participants and team access on a folder](/en/features/participants-and-team).

## A folder’s dates: templates and calendars

A folder template can now contain an appointment, a milestone or a shared place. Their dates are kept as days, with the appointment’s time, and counted again from the day you use the template, so a kick-off meeting always sits at the same distance from the folder’s opening. A place’s exact address is encrypted in the template.

A template no longer needs a publication to exist, and the “Write a publication” button opens the template editor directly. Your own templates come with the Premium plan; the page on [setting up recurring folders with a template](/en/features/folder-templates) shows how to build them.

To [follow your folders’ dates in your own calendar](/en/features/calendar-subscription), the subscribe panel now leads with Google Calendar, Outlook and Apple Calendar, and the feed address stays folded away. A folder with no date at all shows a single empty message instead of several.

## When a client opens the folder for their professional

A client can open a folder and send its link to their professional, who then takes it over. The client creates their account with a six-digit code typed in place, with no link sending them elsewhere. The “Send this folder to …” card marks the sending, the opening and the take-over as they happen, and until someone takes the folder over, the client can fix the subject, the description or the professional’s name.

The client can no longer end up as the professional of their own folder by mistake: Kolinea refuses their own address as the link’s recipient, and if they open the link themselves, they see their folder read-only. On the professional’s side, the take-over page shows the folder as a folder (subject, sender, date, documents), with its deadline in plain sight.

## Signing in and getting started

Signing in by e-mail used to ask you to choose between a code and a link before anything was sent. Now you enter your address, one e-mail goes out with the code at the top and the link below, and the screen waits for the code. The code works even when you read the e-mail on your phone while signing in on a computer; the link is there for anyone signing in on the device where they read their mail. In the middle of a flow, sign-in opens in the usual window, by code, and leaves you where you were.

On first sign-in, the full-screen wizard gives way to a small window asking for your name and your workspace’s, both prefilled. Confirm it or close it, and it does not come back.

## Finding your way around

In the side bar, hovering a folder under “Recent folders” shows a card: who is in charge, how many requests are waiting, how many are late, and when the folder last moved. Choosing between two folders no longer means opening both. The workspace name only appears when you have several to tell apart.

Under the navigation, a section now carries your workspace’s name: “Members” with their count, “Subscription” for whoever can manage the workspace, and a gear leading to every setting. The lone button at the foot of the bar is gone.

The Folders, Contacts and Templates pages follow the same order: the “New…” button in the header, tabs, a filter bar with search, then the table. The “…” menus and the empty-list messages are the same everywhere. Every window and panel also shares the same header (icon, title, one line of help) and keeps its buttons in the same place; on a phone, windows open as a sheet.

## Fixes

- In production, the charts on the Statistics page were all drawn in the text colour. Each series has its own colour again.
- A folder’s contact cards could disappear after the page refreshed, with no error message. They now stay in place.

Every change has its own dated entry in the [Kolinea changelog](/en/changelog).
